GOAL 3
We are GOAL 3, a social enterprise, founded in 2019, that is deeply engaged with the wellbeing of people worldwide. Our name is a tribute to sustainable development goal 3 of the United Nations; ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. We are determined to make a positive global impact by improving healthcare on a systemic level. By leading through action and focussing on collaboration instead of competition, we want to revolutionize healthcare to make it fair, accessible and better than ever.

Our mission statement
The right to health is universal. Every person should have access to healthcare. Therefore, it is unacceptable that billions of people do not have access to adequate healthcare and every year millions die from treatable conditions. Fighting this injustice is what motivates us and what keeps us up at night.
Our mission and vision
We believe in fair and accessible healthcare for everyone and we know health workers are key to achieving that. Therefore, our mission is “To enable and empower health workers at places where it is needed most.” This way we want to improve access to care for 100 million people in 2030, with our vision on fair and accessible healthcare for everyone.

GOAL 3 Founded
It is time for change! GOAL 3 is founded to bring fair and accessible healthcare to everyone.
11.2020
GOAL 3 Lift-Off event
To share our GOAL with the world we organized the GOAL 3 Lift-Off event. A successful launch to put our name on the map.
01.2021
Pilot study Malawi
The study to test our prototype started in Malawi! Our colleague Bart went to Malawi for 5 months to test the monitor on around 50 patients.
02.2021
Successful Pre-seed crowdfunding campaign
Our first crowdfunding campaign was a great success and went far beyond our imagination. The campaign gathered €657.100,- and showed us that we all believe it is time for change!
06.2021
Kick-off IMPALA project Malawi
The IMPALA project started! Together with a team of experts we will develop our IMPALA system in Malawi.
07.2021
Granted: Achmea Foundation Grant
We were awarded with the Achmea Foundation Grant! This is the starting point towards commercialization of the IMPALA and allows us to do an in-depth market exploration in Kenya, Malawi, Ghana and Rwanda
03.2022
IMPALA 1.0 - New product design released together with partner Mango product design
After a long and iterative design process, the new design of the IMPALA monitor as we know it today, is released. The firm handle, green sleeve, and durable appearance make an iconic design, suited for the end-users' environment.

Successful Seed funding round & crowdfunding campaign
We had another very successful crowdfunding campaign where we spread our vision that it is time for change!
07.2022
IMPALA Study Malawi
As part of the IMPALA project, we started our IMPALA study in Malawi. We implemented 50 IMPALA monitors to collect data for predictive algorithms. During the 12 month period of the study we monitored around 700 children.
10.2022
Founded GOAL 3 Rwanda Ltd.
We founded a local company in Rwanda! The aim of this step is to be an innovation, sales and service hub in Rwanda, from where we will also continue to expand to other countries in East Africa and beyond.
01.2023
First implementation in Malawi
The Ministry of Health in Malawi gave us approvals for market access to bring the IMPALA system to more hospitals in Malawi. We can start implementing our system outside a research setting in Malawi and we started an implementation in St. Lukes Hospital in Zomba, Southern Malawi.
05.2023
Start IMPALA-Reliability Study Rwanda
We started our Reliability study in Rwanda to validate our systems in Rwanda in the University Teaching Hospital (CHUK) in Kigali. During the study we prove the effectiveness of our monitoring system against the current standard of care.
07.2023
First Implementation in Tanzania
Our first implementation in Tanzania started in Sengerema Hospital in Northern Tanzania. First the NICU and afterwards the pediatric ward will be equipped with the IMPALA system.
